IPL Therapy
What is IPL therapy?
Intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy uses light energy to impact your skin at a cellular level, improving its appearance and texture. Using the cutting-edge Cutera® Xeo®, Dr. Pasha can set the equipment’s specific duration, intensity, and spectral distribution to ensure you get an IPL treatment that’s safe and effective.
The light energy from the IPL focuses on the pigment or irregularities in your skin, causing it to fracture into smaller pieces. Whether it’s dark veins, blood vessels, or scar tissue, your body naturally absorbs and removes these fractionated pieces, eliminating them from the body.
IPL can also stimulate the production of collagen, a protein your body uses to strengthen the skin’s support systems. Additionally, the procedure can constrict blood vessels, which reduces redness and inflammation.

What is IPL used for?
Although Dr. Pasha uses IPL for a multitude of conditions, he often uses it to reduce the signs of aging on your skin. When you want an anti-aging treatment, IPL can reduce the appearance of:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Age spots
- Dark pigmentation
- Uneven texture and tone, including rosacea
- Superficial scarring and acne
- Hair removal
Dr. Pasha may suggest IPL treatments for skin rejuvenation, which can brighten the whole face and give your skin a more youthful look.
When can you see the results from an IPL treatment?
Right after your IPL treatment, you may experience slight redness or irritation, but in most patients, this subsides within a few hours. For those who had extensive IPL therapy, it may take a week for dark spots or redness to fade.
For a minimum of two weeks after your treatment, protect yourself outdoors by wearing sunscreen and a wide brim hat. As soon as your skin heals, your IPL results become visible and can last up to a year. In some cases, Dr. Pasha may recommend more than one IPL treatment to reach optimal benefits. You must schedule treatments far enough away that your skin completely heals between sessions.
